Week of Compassion |
WoC's RESPONSE FUND MAKING A DIFFERENCE AROUND THE WORLD.
For 2010, the Week of Compassion Advisory Committee has allocated $510,000 for the Compassion Response Fund. Week of Compassion (WoC) makes allocations from the fund in rapid response to disasters around the world, which are presently occurring an average of every three days. The fund is the single largest item in WoC's program budget. Week of Compassion is the relief and development fund of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Marion Cares |
Marion Cares,
the ecumenical ministry with Azure Apartments, has
grown into a dynamic outreach effort touching the lives of
the young people and parents of the Azure Apartments. But
this is only a part of the vision, the beginning of something
great big and wonderful for God. Volunteers are needed in several different areas. Prayerfully consider your involvement in this ministry and contact us for more information. |

Congregational Care |
Congregational Care is a very important part of how we care for all of our members at Marion Christian Church. If you’re in the hospital, just came home from the hospital and need help with things like rides to the doctor, groceries and/or prescriptions picked up or just a visit or occasional phone call, or if you’re a new member to Marion Christian Church we have a special group that will be there for you. For members who have a terminal illness or possibly a family member that does or if you’ve recently lost a family member, we also have a team that wants to help you through a difficult time.
We also have a great team of people, Disciples Helping Disciples, that will help you with minor home repair and maintenance projects.
If you have a need for help or are interested in being part of our team please call Elder Bev Lillie at 551-3626 or Deacon Anne Sara at 360-9990.

Information Line |
Our church "information line" is up and running and is available 24 hours a day to anyone who calls the church. The information line will be geared toward newcomers to the community, potential visitors, etc., but will also provide meeting and event information useful to our membership. The information line extension is 301. Pat Knight administers the Information Line and welcomes your comments at marionchristian@mchsi.com. |

W.O.W. |
Marion Christian offers a weekly opportunity for members and friends of our church family to come together in fellowship and service while growing in our faith. The purpose of this ministry is to provide opportunities for the development of Christian life skills and multi-age Christian relationship building through bible study, fellowship, witnessing, service recreation, music, and crafts. We meet each Wednesday, beginning in September, starting with dinner at 6:00. Our name for this event is "W.O.W" -- Worshipping on Wednesday! |
